Leaf peeper's dream, The Herald Bulletin
If you’ve ever traveled to a state park in hopes of catching the most vivid foliage of the fall season, there’s a name for you: “leaf peeper.”
“I have no idea where it comes from, but it’s kind of a cute name,” Jamie Newton said.
Newton is communications director for the Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau. She’s accustomed to seeing leaf peepers gazing down from hillsides from overlooks.
“Brown County State Park is huge for fall foliage, we’re always packed, and the campground and lodges are almost always sold out,” Newton said.
